About

I am a visual artist who works with a range of media including textiles, sculpture, found and discarded objects, performance, installation, and social engagement. I came quite unexpectedly and late to the world of art and making, having has a long career in the health and social care sector.

This has had a profound influence on my creative practice much of which explores and questions issues that are really important to me and common to us all . Issues such as how we live in the world with each other, how we value what we have, the impact of the environment upon our lives, how we can psychologically defend ourselves in this complex world and our experience as women of ageing in contemporary society.

Although textiles are my first love and solace, I am increasingly interested in involving others in my projects. By inviting others to contribute, art encourages people to explore their own responses, promotes discussion and fosters a sense of community.
