The exhibition at the Kit Form Gallery, Jamaica Street, 24th to 26th May was a great success with over 460 visitors over the 3 days of opening.

On show were 77 costumes and 2 knitted swimming hats embellished by 64 women and girls from around the country. The youngest contributor was 14 and the eldest in her 80s currently living in a care home.

Accompanied by powerful and often funny stories about women's lives and how they feel about ageing each of the costumes was extraordinary and moving. Lots of laughter and tears.

What visitors said

'What an amazing and inspiring celebration of ageing. I have laughed and cried(nearly). Thank you for displaying the normally invisible joys and struggles. (47)

Wonderful exhibition!

So many ripples beyond what we can see- conversations, meeting new people, thoughts and reflections- Well done Mandy.   Ann

Love that this encompasses so many life stages and stories. We have discussed puberty, menopause, body hair, body shame age as a number or  feeling..........amazing.

This is the BEST show I have seen in as long as I can remember- It must tour! Exciting , fun , challenging and beautiful.

An adventure in a room. Jo
